Visit the Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archives - photo by Merry ColonyLama Yeshe Ling Tibetan Buddhist Group is an open-hearted community that empowers people to discover and develop their inherent potential for compassion, wisdom and inner peace. Here you can get in touch with what is happening in our community, meet friends, learn about Buddhist Philosophy, and most importantly discover methods that may help you to overcome suffering, develop compassion and gain insight. We meet in Burlington, Hamilton, Toronto, and Kitchener/Waterloo.

Lama Yeshe Ling is affiliated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition ('FPMT'), which is based on the Gelugpa tradition of Lama Tsongkhapa of Tibet as taught by Founder, Lama Thubten Yeshe, and Spiritual Director, Lama Zopa Rinpoche. The FPMT creates opportunities to listen, reflect, meditate, practice and actualize the unmistaken teachings of the Buddha and based on that experience spreading the Dharma to sentient beings. Lama Zopa Rinpoche and the FPMT is dedicated to fulfilling the wishes of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, understanding this to be the quickest and most vast way of benefiting sentient beings.

News Stories

Dear friends,
Lama Yeshe Ling has made the decision to temporarily suspend group gatherings starting this
Monday, March 16th. Even though we will be refraining from meeting in person, we feel it is
important to continue with Dharma activity and maintain a supportive sense of community. We
are looking into continuing some programs online, such as Discovering Buddhism, Sunday
Buddhist Wisdom and Meditation with Geshe Sonam and our special events with Geshe
Sherab. The library talk will be postponed until we gather once again in person. We will send out
more detailed information about livestreaming or meeting through Zoom soon.

May you be well, may you be peaceful and at ease.

We rejoice that we are now able to offer all our programs and pujas at our new location, 1287 Coric Ave.

We are delighted to welcome Geshe Sonam Ngodup back to Canada and to Lama Yeshe Ling! We are so fortunate that he will be volunteering to teach and offer spiritual guidance. Geshe-la will be leading an ongoing program on Sunday mornings and we will be gathering on October 5th to welcome him and benefit from a one day mini retreat that he will be leading.

Geshe Sonam is very well loved by his students and is known for being a warm, patient and approachable teacher. Geshe-la is an inspiring example of how to bring the Dharma into practice.

Venerable Geshe Sonam was born in Kardze, Kham in 1968, crossed the Himalays to come to India to become a monk when he was 13 years old. He graduated with distinction as a Lharampa Geshe Sera Je monastery (much more than a doctorate). After this he studied tantric philosophy and ritual at Gyume Tantric College. Geshe Sonam has taught at the Maitraiya Institute in the Netherlands, at Nalanda Monastery in France and as a visiting teacher at various FPMT centres in Europe and here at Lama Yeshe Ling.
